Reconstruction of the atmospheric CO2 concentrations of the last 200 million years with
model-based scenarios for the future warm climate in the Earth's past.

By the end of this century, atmospheric CO2 concentrations will reach levels not seen for millions of years, according to all but the most optimistic projections.
The goal of VeWA is to reconstruct the relationship between climate, biosphere and Earth surface processes during past warm periods such as the Paleogene and Late Cretaceous (~95-35 million years ago). In doing so, we want to understand the Earth as a system - and we want to make model predictions about possible future climate scenarios.

We use the view into our Earth's climate past as a window into our climate future.
