ExtraHerb - Hochschule Geisenheim
The "ExtraHerb" project aims to develop sustainable packaging solutions for potted herbs, replacing traditional plastic components such as pots, bags, and trays. By analyzing the entire supply chain—from cultivation to consumer use—the project seeks to create eco-friendly alternatives that maintain the quality and shelf life of herbs like basil, parsley, and mint. These new packaging concepts are being tested in real-world retail environments to ensure their practicality and consumer acceptance. The ultimate goal is to reduce plastic waste in the packaging of potted herbs.
